I think if you asked 100 dentists to make a list of their biggest problems and concerns they have for their practices, “staffing” and “scheduling” would be ranked pretty close to the top. Finding and keeping good employees has traditionally been difficult in dentistry and the current economic conditions have created problems from a scheduling standpoint for many offices.

The fabrication of base alloy frameworks are state of the art, but often they receive a “bad reputation” with claims of much of the population suffering from toxic or allergic reactions due to dental metallic materials. It’s not to say that such reactions never occur, but when one compares the number of reported cases to the total number of units manufactured for patients, the ratio is very minimal. The risk of an allergy to food, such as strawberries or nuts, is much greater than the risk of having a reaction against a dental alloy compound.

The first rule of the stage is, before you utter one line of dialogue you have to ask yourself, “What’s my motivation?” Your answer will color the tone, pace and delivery of that one line.

Financing in today’s economic environment is incredibly more difficult than before the current financial meltdown. In the past, a reasonable credit score, a passable amount of income and a good concept, such as buying a dental practice, would guarantee a dentist the ability to secure financing at a competitive interest rate with a fair term for the repayment schedule.
