NYU College of Dentistry sponsors Black History Month Oral Health Day
The New York University College of Dentistry (NYUCD) Office of Student Affairs in collaboration with the NYS Assemblyman, Keith Wright, NY City Councilwomen, Inez Dickens, and Vice President Allen McFarlane of NYU’s Office of Student Diversity Programs and Services will sponsor The Martin Luther King Jr. /Black History Oral Health Day on Saturday, February 12th from 12:00 – 3:00 pm at the Harlem State Office building.
The NYUCD Dental Van will provide complimentary oral screenings to adults and children. Assemblyman Keith Wright and Vice President Allen McFarlane will make an appearance at 12:00 noon to open the day. The event will be held in front of the Harlem State Office building at 125th street between 7th and Lenox.
MLK Week 2011 at New York University is scheduled for February 7-12, 2011. This year we will commemorate the 50th anniversary of the 1961 visit of the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. to our Campus. It was on February 10th when Dr. King met with members of the NYU community during a three-hour visit. After lunch with student leaders and meeting campus officials, Dr. King delivered a speech entitled, “The Future of Integration.”
