She has become a teacher, writer and started a magazine to do just that. Shannon got her first experience in the dental field when she got a job answering phones in a dental office while she was in high school. Her first employer trained her to be a chairside assistant and she graduated in 1994 from the dental assisting program at Bowman Gray School of Medicine.

Harmony is sometimes difficult to achieve because patients often have amalgam fillings in these teeth, which will generate a blue tint to the enamel. We need to first understand natural teeth color and then see a proper preparation reduction margin design to create a matching restoration for the molars. Zest Anchors Inc. bought by Jordan Company LP
March 21st 2012A recent article published on the Web site of Buyouts magazine announced the purchase of Zest Anchors Inc. of Escondido, Calif. by the Jordan Company LP. Zest Anchors is a leading manufacturer of attachments used to secure dentures and implant retained overdentures. According to the article, Jordan Company purchased a majority stake while Zuest and other shareholders retain a 25 percent stake. Equity for the investment will come out of The Resolute Fund II LP, according to a regulatory filing. The deal closed Dec. 31.

Reducing contamination in your DUWLs
March 21st 2012The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of Citrisil tablets in controlling microbial contamination, preventing biofilm formation and enhancing biofilm removal from dental unit waterlines. Test materials included Citrisil™, Citrisil Shock™, Aseptisil™ liquid and Aseptisil™ powder. Sterilex-powder served as control during the shock treatment. Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Klebsiella pneumoniae were used to inoculate regular polyurethane dental tubing. Experiments were conducted using a dental unit waterline biocide test apparatus and methodology in the ANSI/ADA’s draft standard.
