Whether talking about cell phones where something new and improved comes along every other day or cars where the next model comes out next year, the state-of-the-art in any category only remains so until something better comes along.

Our patient, a female in her mid-30s, is the sister of a dental hygienist. Because of this close relationship, there were two people carefully inspecting her dental work, one with plenty of knowledge about the field.

1. OS (oscillating segment) Discs are 60° segmented with a radius of 1.4 cm and a pivoting angle of 30°, allowing comfortable intraoral handling even in posterior areas with excellent user control. 2. A more effective method than manual enamel reduction, the OS Discs reduce the risk of injuring soft tissue without the need for a disc guard. 3. OS Discs allow very good vision for the user and provide optimal chip removal.

Earlier this month, the Nobel Procera team visited Ivoclar Vivadent's headquarters in Amherst, N.Y.  During the two-day visit, participants learned how to stain, glaze, and crystallize IPS e.max CAD restorations. The training also included Ivoclar Vivadent's new temporary material, Telio CAD, and an overview on metal ceramics.

How does Glidewell view the current dental implant market in the United States?

CAD/CAM has been a topic of discussion in the dental lab business for a number of years now, and there are numerous opinions about it-examples of many appear in this issue of DLP. Now that we have you thinking about CAD/CAM, I figure this is a good opportunity to get my 2 cents worth out there too.
