Phoenix, Ariz., September 27, 2010-This summer, SmartPractice hosted a Cancer Awareness Health Fair for employees and their families. Employees were encouraged to wear pink to the event that featured awareness, education and cancer prevention tips from The American Cancer Society, Guardians of the Ribbon and The Wellness Community.
The famous Pink Fire Truck was on-site selling T-shirts to create awareness, and women had the opportunity to sign up for monthly self-exam reminders and Mobile OnSite Mammography screenings. Attendees received educational materials from the American Cancer Society and learned about programs offered at The Wellness Community.
The day’s highlight was a check presentation totaling $23,000 to the participating organizations with proceeds generated from the sale of exclusive SmartPractice Pink Ribbon health care products, including Dental Exam Gloves, Prophy Angles, Patient Bibs and Toothbrushes.
To date, SmartPractice has contributed more than $85,000 in support of breast cancer awareness and research programs and with 30 additional Pink Ribbon Postcards, Supply Bags and Promotional Giveaways debuting in 2010, that number will continue to grow.
