When I first talked to Anastasia Turchetta, RDH, about e-cigarettes in February, the video was one of the most popular and most discussed among dental professionals on our site. With some new data being released, we decided to revisit the topic.
One of the most polarizing discussions about e-cigarettes (on this site and elsewhere) has regarded the role they play in the reduction of conventional cigarette usage. Also discussed in the video interview below is the role of flavored nioctine as well as how dental professionals should talk to their patients about e-cigarette usage. In addition, Turchetta believes dental practices should update their health history forms to include inquiring about patients using e-cigarettes.
