Advanstar Communications  announced today that Kevin Henry has joined the dental group as Group Content Director, tasked with further developing a content strategy that embraces multi-platform storytelling while maintaining a laser-like focus on audience.

Kevin’s wealth of experience in practice management and dental team dynamics makes him the ideal asset to bring on board in conjunction with Advanstar Dental Media’s launch of Dental Practice Management later this year.

Kevin brings 14 years of experience in the dental industry. In his last position he split time between four roles: Managing Editor for Dental Economics, Editor of Dental Assisting Digest, Editor of Proofs, and co-managing editor of DentistryIQ.com.

This arrangement makes him uniquely adept at managing the family of brands within the Advanstar Dental Media portfolio, which includes the industry-leading Dental Products Report, social media powerhouse Modern Hygienist, resurgent Dental Lab Products and the aforementioned Dental Practice Management.

“This has been an outstanding year for the dental group, and we have every intention of finishing out the year strong. Bringing someone with the depth of Kevin Henry’s experience to our team demonstrates our commitment to building that success on a foundation of quality content,” said John Schwartz, Vice President of the Dental Group. “Re-launching Dental Practice Management – formerly Dental Practice Report – is a major step in that effort. Our web traffic and audience feedback demands that we deliver in this critical content area, and Kevin is the person to help us do that with integrity as well as creativity.”

Kevin’s leadership in embracing electronic media, and using social media to amplify its reach - proven daily by his 4,000 Twitter followers @kgh23 - make him a content specialist built to establish a bold digital path and a perfect fit for the multi-platform approach Advanstar Dental Media embraces.

Kevin assumes the Group Content Director role previously held by Thais Carter. Thais is moving into a new position as Director of Business Development for Dental and Healthcare.

This transition capitalizes on Thais’ successes over the last eight years with Advanstar, focused on creating new online and print products that optimize audience engagement. She has been, and will continue to be, a strategic partner to Advanstar’s editorial and sales teams, as well as the manufacturing community.

These changes are an outward sign of Advanstar Dental Media’s continued investment in the talent it takes to deliver quality content, quality audience and quality leads to the ever-evolving dental market.
