DPR Friday: Taking a closer look at must-have products [VIDEO]

A second look at some must-have products PLUS a patient and team member’s take on the Wand STA from Aseptico.

At DPR, we love to talk to dentists about the products they love and why they love them. In this month’s issue we brought you 3 Double Takes filled with first hand information from your peers, peers who are excited to share their product experiences. Here’s what they had to say.

... Dr. Louis Kaufman uses DenMat’s SOL laser in his practice, and loves the efficiency that comes with this lightweight, portable diode. The laser’s blue aiming beam is a huge plus that enables him to see exactly where he is, which makes it easy on tissue while remaining fast and cutting cleanly and precisely.

.... More and more patients want to whiten, and Dr. Don Wilson’s system of choice is the Kor Whitening System. He’s tried many whitening products in the past, but says this one is the only one that creates wow results every time. Patients love the results and are more excited to go forward with other optional as well as necessary procedures, which has been a huge boost to his practice.

.... Hygienist Shelley Rice has used DIAGNOdent laser caries detection aid for years and says it’s something she’d recommend for all dental offices. She’s never been disappointed with the detection aid’s discovery or findings, and says it helps doctors perform complete and accurate examinations. Not to mention the fact patients are more likely to accept care when you have quantative findings to backup the decay diagnosis.

In this month’s Patient Perspective, we talked with Carrie Keogh Brown about Aseptico’s The Wand STA, a computer-controlled local anesthesia delivery that enhances the injection process for the dentist and the patient. She hates injections, and was relieved when her dentist Dr. Guy Mangia adopted The Wand in his practice.

Carrie is not only a patient at Dr. Mangia’s, she’s also on his dental team. She’s happy to tell her patients about The Wand and the pain-free dentistry it offers. Patients relax more and that makes her job less stressful. As both a patient and a team member, Carrie can’t imagine being at a practice that doesn’t offer The Wand, and after experiencing the difference, many of her patients feel the same.
