Previously, the etching mode clinicians used was dictated by the brand of adhesive. Now, with the advent of 3M™ ESPE™ Scotchbond™ Universal Adhesive, clinicians can choose between self-, selective- or total-etch techniques, all from the same “universal” adhesive.
With Scotchbond, the chemical makeup of the product ensures clinicians don’t need to be concerned with post-operative sensitivity. In addition, the adhesive's high moisture and dehydration tolerance ensures little to no residual moisture left in the dentin after rinsing off the etchant. Dentists are given a larger window to place the adhesive and no longer need to risk overdrying of the restoration, which can contribute to post-operative sensitivity.
Scotchbond bonds to all dental surfaces-including enamel, dentin, glass ceramic, zirconia, noble and non-precious alloys- without any extra primer.
