A lot of things have changed since 2005 (Twitter wasn’t even around then), but one thing that hasn’t is 3M ESPE’s place at the top of a ranking of the dental industry’s most innovative companies.
For a decade, the Anaheim Group has tabbed 3M ESPE as the most innovative company in the dental industry. It’s an honor that the dental powerhouse takes very seriously.
“We absolutely look at it as an honor,” said John Tobin, director of the United States business unit for 3M ESPE. “We are always on the lookout for ways to bring innovative ideas and products to the dental industry. I don’t want to be the guy who was at the helm when that streak was broken.”
With products such as the 3M True Definition Scanner and Imprint 4 impression material, it’s easy to see some of the innovations that 3M ESPE has introduced to the dental industry over the years. With this thought in mind, we sat down with Tobin to ask him about how 3M ESPE stays innovative. We even threw a curveball at him by asking which was more important … execution or innovation?
