Glidewell’s sleep appliance Silent Nite® is now eligible for Medicare, allowing many more patients with obstructive sleep apnea to receive treatment and sleep easier.
Silent Nite®, Glidewell’s mandibular advancement device, is eligible for Medicare now, allowing Medicare recipients to take full advantage of this treatment. Silent Nite enables patients with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) to breathe better as it shifts the lower jaw forward during sleep. This shifting of the jaw prevents airway collapse, leading to better sleep and healthier patients, according to Glidewell Founder and President Jim Glidewell, CDT.
“We’re thrilled that the Silent Nite Appliance is now available to treat Medicare-enrolled patients diagnosed with OSA,” Glidewell says in a press release from the company. “It’s a tribute to our world-class R&D and preventive care teams, who continue to steadily advance the dental sleep medicine landscape. We’re committed to making oral appliance therapy more practical for clinicians––so they can improve the lives of their patients.”
This is the second Silent Nite appliance eligible for Medicare reimbursement under code E0486, and marks Glidewell’s continued commitment to effective and affordable sleep appliance treatment, per the press release. Silent Nite is Pricing, Data Analysis, and Coding (PDAC) contractor-verified for Medicare reimbursement, and is said to guarantee mandibular advancement with a low price point for better accessibility.
After nighttime use, patients can take advantage of extra connectors and an AM Aligner® to further treat OSA and improve sleep. Silent Nite has a 3-year warranty. Other treatments from Glidewell include Silent Nite with Glidewell Hinge, which is also PDAC-approved for Medicare.
