The Pride Institute's "Best of Class" Technology Awards represent an initiative to promote innovation in new and existing dental technology companies, providing a means through which the organization can educate those in the dental profession to use technology more effectively. 

The Pride Institute's "Best of Class" Technology Awards represent an initiative to promote innovation in new and existing dental technology companies, providing a means through which the organization can educate those in the dental profession to use technology more effectively. 

This year's honorees span a wide range of categories and uses, from the business-oriented to the clinical, such as the SoproCARE caries detection device from ACTEON North America. Learn more in the interview below with Tim Long, vice president and chief operating officer of ACTEON North America.

Using autofluorescence and chromatic amplification, the SoproCARE prophylaxis camera reveals caries, new and old plaque and can reveal gingival inflammation. In Using it, a complete oral exam can be completed with one device. It operates in three modes. PERIO Mode: Highlights tartar, plaque, and gingival inflammations, even at the early stage. Three modes detect caries at different stages, plus SoproCARE can also be used as a camera, providing all of the necessary tools to perform a complete and time efficient oral examination.
