3D Systems announced it has entered into a multinational distribution agreement with Henry Schein, Inc., the world’s largest provider of health care products and services to office-based dental, animal health and medical practitioners.

3D Systems announced it has entered into a multinational distribution agreement with Henry Schein, Inc., the world’s largest provider of health care products and services to office-based dental, animal health and medical practitioners.

Under the new agreement, Henry Schein will offer 3DS’ dental 3D printers to its dental laboratory customers in the United States, Canada, France, Germany, Australia and Thailand. The agreement reportedly substantially expands 3DS’ dental labs reach and integrates its printers into Henry Schein’s complete digital dental solution.

Under the terms of this agreement, Henry Schein will market and sell 3DS’ micro-SLA ProJet® 1200 and its new ProJet® 3510 DPPro as part of its digital dental laboratory offering, which includes 3D scanners, software, installation and post-sales support.

“3D Systems is an industry leader in high-fidelity, precision 3D printing,” said Robert Gottlander, vice president, global prosthetic solutions, Henry Schein. “We are very pleased to offer our dental lab customers 3D Systems’ high-performance 3D printers as part of our integrated digital dental solution.”

Engineered specifically for the demanding dental lab environment, the new multipurpose ProJet 3510 DPPro 3D printer is said to provide round-the-clock printing capabilities and features a large build volume, allowing lab managers to rethink maximum throughput and tighten production schedules. With the ProJet 3510 DPPro, labs can print enhanced, highly accurate wax-ups for crowns, bridges and partial denture frameworks, in addition to working models for crown and bridge, orthodontic, partial dentures, and dental models in USP Class VI-capable VisiJet® Stoneplast.

The desktop ProJet 1200 puts industrial-grade SLA 3D printing in an affordable lab benchtop package. With specially engineered materials, including VisiJet® FTX Green and VisiJet® FTX Cast, this compact machine quickly produces dental wax-ups - for copings, bridges and pressed ceramics - that are compatible with traditional workflows.

“We are excited to work with a leading digital dental solution provider of the caliber of Henry Schein,” said Kevin McAlea, COO, health care products, 3DS. “This agreement provides unprecedented access for our latest dental 3D printers with a world-class organization that is uniquely qualified to deliver integrated digital dental solutions, services and support to our mutual dental customers.”

3DS’ dental solutions were showcased at the LMT LAB DAY Chicago February 27 – 28, 2015, and will also be on display at IDS 2015, March 10–14, 2015, in Cologne, Germany.
