Planmeca University is taking the Digital Dentistry Certification to a whole new level. In 2007, the Chairside Dental Designer program (C.D.D.) was introduced with the objective of encouraging the opportunities for growth and proficiency of dental assistants and dental technicians within CAD/CAM chairside dentistry.  

Planmeca University is taking the Digital Dentistry Certification to a whole new level. In 2007, the Chairside Dental Designer program (C.D.D.) was introduced with the objective of encouraging the opportunities for growth and proficiency of dental assistants and dental technicians within CAD/CAM chairside dentistry.  

Since then, the program has grown to over 250 C.D.D.s strong. The C.D.D. program has been redesigned and renamed to Certified in Digital Dentistry, representing dentistry’s rapidly evolving digital environment and creating additional possibilities for professional growth within the digital dental world. CAD/CAM related groups/specialties within the program include Scanning, Designing, and Finishing - each specialty with their own unique requirements.

The digital dentistry certification program is a two-part study program (online and hands-on) taught by experienced faculty who are leaders in their fields. "Whether you are just starting your journey in Digital Dentistry or sharpening your skill set, the educational opportunities are endless with this easily accessible learning platform.  We are so excited to see our C.D.D. community develop into a close-knit clinical team of exceptional dental professionals bringing additional value and proficiency to their practices," said Ashley Truitt, Director of Clinical Education.

Courses are organized around experiential activities to help dental professionals develop new skills and acquire additional proficiencies that can be used daily, as well as to advance their careers.
