The added stability that mini implants can bring makes a dramatic difference in the function of patients’ dentures, as well as their confidence.
At a Glance
1. The patient’s lower denture clasped around tooth Nos. 22 and 27.
2. A pilot drill was used to create entry points for the mini implants.
3. Implants were inserted into the pilot holes.
4. A torque wrench was used for the final turns in the insertion procedure.
5. The two implants immediately after insertion.
6. Radiographs were taken to confirm proper placement in the bone.
7. The partial denture prior to being fitted around the implants.
8. The denture was relieved to create room for the implant housings.
9. The implant housings were placed on the implants.
10. The housings were cured into place in the denture with a hard pick-up material.
