Dental cavities and tooth decay is one of the most common medical conditions experienced by Americans and the single most common disease of childhood. 

CBC News reports that tooth decay is on the rise among preschoolers. Health reporter Kelly Crowe talks with dentists who say that daily brushing is just too much for many parents, and this is resulting in a tooth decay epidemic among children.

Parents should use toothpastes that contain fluoride with a minimum concentration of 1,000 parts per million to prevent tooth decay in their children, says a new report.  Preventing tooth decay can help reduce the need for extensive and costly dental treatments, including extractions.
