Curing lights today generate more intense light, and only need seconds to cure. If something is that intense, imagine what it can do to the naked eye; retinal burns, cataracts and/or advancement of macular degeneration. Even small glimpses of the light can cause ocular damage.
Many times I’ve been told, “It’s no big deal, I only look for a second” but the truth is, each time you look at the blue light you are causing damage, which adds up. It may not be a problem today, or next week, but the cumulative damage over time can have some life-altering effects on your sight.
Looking away from the light often allows the light to "drift” away from the area we need to cure causing inadequate polymerization of restorations. That may cause sensitivity and shorten the life of the restoration.
Protect your eyesight and the eyesight of your team members by using an efficient shield that does what no other shield can do!
