Vatech will research and develop artificial intelligence capabilities to enhance dental diagnostics.
Dental and medical device group Vatech has announced that it will be developing and incorporating artificial intelligence (AI) with the assistance of software company Ewoosoft and 3D CBCT AI company Eyes of AI. Together, these companies aim to enhance AI diagnostic capabilities, according to a press release from Vatech.
As Eyes of AI specializes in CBCT technology, Vatech will be able to harness clinical CBCT data to more accurately segment things like teeth, roots, and nerves, per the press release. With additional input from Ewoosoft’s x-ray image viewing capabilities, Vatech hopes to enhance diagnostic capabilities in the dental practice.
Eventually, Vatech aims to introduce virtual patients to better enhance care through training. Added to that, Vatech is also developing AI assistance for image noise reduction as well as image resolution enhancement.
“As a leading company in the global dental CT market, Vatech is accelerating the development and implementation of various AI technologies to enhance the accuracy of dental diagnosis and treatment convenience,” Head of Research at Vatech, Seong-il Choi said in the press release. “We aim to reduce the time spent on treatment preparation, enabling dentists to devote more time to improving the quality of dental treatment and services.”
