There’s a lot to like about Tokuyama’s Estelite Sigma Quick® universal restorative resin composite, and much of it comes down to its 100% spherical filler.
There’s a lot to like about Tokuyama’s Estelite Sigma Quick® universal restorative resin composite, and much of it comes down to its 100% spherical filler.
The composite offers extreme initial gloss in less time than irregular fillers, while maintaining long-term natural luster. The spherical fillers provide low composite wear over time. They are safe for opposing dentition while causing less wear on opposing teeth.
Beyond that, this technology provides a uniform diffusion of light, allowing for a more forgiving shade match, reducing composite inventory and excess costs. Here, one doctor tells us about her experience with this universal resin composite and why other doctors might want to try Estelite Sigma Quick in their practice.
How long have you used Estelite Sigma Quick® in your practice? How did you first hear about it?
I have used Estelite Sigma Quick® for between a year and a year and a half. I first heard about the material from my Patterson rep, Ann Milligan. It’s also something my colleagues had begun using, so I heard about this material from my colleagues as well.
What attracted you to this material?
I wanted to choose a material that was strong and still esthetic. Upon doing my own research and trials, I determined that I liked the handling of Estelite and the history/research behind it.
What do you like most about Estelite Sigma Quick?
I appreciate most the product’s easy handling. It also has good long-term studies that support its longevity and high performance. It’s also proven to be very durable.
What are the benefits to your practice? What are the benefits to your patients?
The benefits are the same, really. This material benefits my practice with better dependable and reliable treatment results, which also is a great benefit for my patients.
Would you encourage other doctors who aren’t using this product to give it a try?
Yes, I would encourage my colleagues to use Estelite Sigma Quick®. For dentists to clearly see the difference and determine their material preference, I would recommend doing a comparison of different products with the samples they receive from their rep. Put them side by side and really see how the products compare. That is what I did.
