Sonendo acquires FluidFile assets to expand their endodontic portfolio offerings and better serve patients.
Dental technology company Sonendo® has announced its acquisition of all of the assets of Israeli dental company FluidFile Ltd. FluidFile is an endodontic-specialized company that creates product options for alternative root canal treatments.
Among the assets acquired is a patent portfolio of 24 granted patents and pending patent applications pertaining to fluid motion technology in endodontic procedures. According to Sonendo President and CEO Bjarne Bergheim, this patent acquisition fell perfectly in line with Sonendo’s values and technology.
"This acquisition is an important investment in our business and our future. The FluidFile patents complement Sonendo's current patent portfolio and strengthen our already strong intellectual property position,” Bergheim said in a press release from the company. We look forward to leveraging our intellectual property portfolio for unique product offerings that we expect will provide better and more efficient patient care and further adoption for our GentleWave technology.”
The GentleWave Procedure from Sonendo is designed to clean and disinfect the root canal system while leaving the tooth structure intact, according to Sonendo. It is said to be done in a single visit and have overall positive feedback from patients. With the acquisition of FluidFile assets, Sonendo hopes to expand product offerings and achieve better patient outcomes.
