Dr. Gregory Solich's take on the Sterisil System water purification system.

Dr. Gregory Solich's take on the Sterisil System water purification system.

After earning my dental degree from the University of Colorado School of Dentistry, I started my own practice in my hometown of Colorado Springs. While I’ve been practicing for many years, it wasn’t until I switched our water purification system to the Sterisil System that we began to experience such great results in our practice.

What are some of the Sterisil System’s best benefits?

The system has a 5 star rating from the U.S. government, yet Sterisil is the most competitive price point on the market. We have had all our water lines recently tested by an independent agency. The results all came back as promised.

All of our dental water lines tested for no more than 10 CFU/ml of water, 50 times better than the recommended standard by the EPA and the ADA. The Sterisil System also provides distilled quality water, which saves us both money and time.

How has this helped with efficiency?

Not only is it very easy to use, but the only maintenance consists of changing out filters, and this annual procedure takes less than 10 minutes to complete.

Also, when using the Sterisil System, it’s non-corrosive and doesn’t harm dental equipment. There’s no taste and no odor. The Sterisil System Direct feed has eliminated the task for my staff of daily filling of bottles and manually adding a disinfection product. (Editors Note: the company also offers a Sterisil System Bottle fill for dental chairs with independent bottles. )

On top of that, the automated monitoring has removed the burden for my staff to record and check the system.

Why did you decide to try this product?

I wanted a state of the art water filtration system and I wanted one that was better and more efficient than present standards. After researching available options, I chose the Sterisil System and have been very happy with my choice.

Why would you encourage other clinicians to try this product?

Dental water line bacteria will continue to be a topic of controversy and fear in the public eye. Why not be able to offer your patients a level of water purification that is 50 times better than what the ADA presently recommends?

Sterisil System

Engineered to provide “distilled quality” table top autoclave and EPA registered treated dental water (~≤10cfu/ml HPC bacteria), the Sterisil® System produces 50 times below the CDC and ADA guideline. This system uses six stages of treatment including class B Ultraviolet Irradiation disinfection of Protozoan parasites such as Giardia and Cryptosporidium. It also removes many microorganisms such as species of Pseudomonas, Streptococcus, Legionella and Mycobacterium tuberculosis.

The autoclave water is purified to zero parts per million (ppm) of total dissolved solids (TDS). Said to be the most advanced automated water quality monitoring system, it allows for six levels of system performance monitoring with LED displays and visual and audible alarms signaling time for replacement of filters. An annual change out requires less than 10 minutes per year and requires no tools or additional additives. It safely and economically exceeds the ADA and CDC recommended guidelines and is used around the world by U.S. Military facilities and universities.
