Through a sales, installation and support partnership with Ray Co. Ltd., a subsidiary of Samsung, LED Imaging offers the RAYSCAN α – Expert, a multi-function digital extraoral imaging system with 3D cone beam computed tomography (CBCT), panoramic and cephalometric capabilities.
The RAYSCAN α – Expert captures 3D images an optimal 9 cm x 9 cm field of view, which is said to be ideal for a wide variety of clinical applications. Also, the system’s CMOS and Direct Deposition Cesium Iodide (CsI) Detector ensures the quick capture of high quality, 16-bit DICOM images at a low radiation dose.
“We are very excited about working with Ray Co. and Samsung to provide practitioners with a compact, yet powerful, CBCT imaging system to capture the crisp, high-quality images needed for diagnosis and treatment,” said Lamar Roberts, president of LED Imaging. “We understand what practitioners want and need, so partnerships like this give us an advantage to provide the best technology available in each product category.”
We learned more about the product at the California Dental Association meeting in San Francisco...
Also at CDA in San Francisco, we also learned about new products from Microcopy, Brasseler USA, DEXIS, and Waterpik.
Regarding the RAYSCAN α, the system’s focal trough is stabilized and controlled through Adaptive Moving Focus technology, which minimizes error caused by patient positioning and movement. Also, the RAYSCAN α – Expert’s sleek design allows it to fit into any practice floor plan, while a height adjustment component lets patients of all sizes – including those in wheelchairs – fit comfortably in the unit.
