OrVance Temporary Tooth Repair
Temporary Tooth Repair, or TTR, is indicated as an at-home cement that provides temporary relief for broken teeth and lost fillings and crowns until proper dental care is received.
It is a pliable tooth-colored material that is designed to stick to problem areas and offer temporary relief that is available to patients over-the-counter.
The material is not a cement, so there is said to be no wait-time for setting, and it reportedly features a 10-second application time. It is said to be easy to remove before dental procedures as well.
TTR uses a moisture-activated adhesive layer, so it works best when teeth are wet. It is then pressed onto the exposed tooth surface for 3 to 5 seconds and molded as desired. Patients then simply bite down as TTR is designed to self-mold to the bite and adjacent teeth.
While safe to use while eating or drinking, patients should avoid chewing on the damaged surface until they receive professional intervention.
It is not indicated for patients to recement crowns at home, but to relieve dentinal hypersensitivity until loose crowns can be properly recement in the practice.
OrVance plans to partner with an established Consumer Packaged Goods company to distribute TTR to brick-and-mortar retail stores. The product is expected to be on shelves in 2022.
SureSmile Aligner Software features updated treatment planning tools, including an enhanced view of models and streamlined patient management screen to make it easier for doctors on the SureSmile Aligner Platform to view key information, while a simplified and streamlined prescription process enables them to work more efficiently.
The software update also gives users a new dental examination process: A 2D color model of the upper and lower dental arch. Missing teeth, fixed teeth or teeth to be extracted are easily identified using the model.
The tooth movement icon opens the free-floating window with the tabs for displacements, elastics and measurements. The patient summary screen makes it easy to view important information such as the case's full expiration date, dental exam and prescription details.
Finally, communication with the SureSmile Digital Lab is facilitated through a streamlined and simplified prescription process.
2 PrograScan One Intraoral Scanners from Ivoclar Vivadent
These scanners, PrograScan One and PrograScan One+, are powered by 3Shape and are meant to support chairside restorative workflows.
The PrograScan One is designed to integrate with the PrograMill One milling machine to create this digital workflow.
The scanning is said to be highly accurate while producing high quality digital impressions, and it utilizes artificial intelligence (AI) to remove soft tissue artefacts from the digital impression. It is designed to fabricate restorations that fit the patient while enhancing comfort for all parties.
The detailed colour scan and shade measurement and enhanced scanning speed round off the accurate scanning experience with PrograScan One.
In addition, the PrograScan One+ is designed to provide optimized handling with wireless scanning technology. This is said to enhance comfort for both dentists and patients.
Expanded VursaWedge lineup from BurtonBands
The VursaWedge is now available in new sizes and designs to expand its capabilities—including the release of 2 new sizes, medium and large, and the addition of the Anatomical VursaWedge.
Featuring a proprietary split wedge design that solves Class II procedural inefficiencies such as gingival seal, matrix contour and proximal contact issues with an all in 1 device, VursaWedge was invented by practicing dentist Matthew Burton, DDS, and is said to provide a better seal at the gingival margin that also results in less flash, thereby achieving better results with less time needed for finishing and polishing.
Additionally, the specialized Anatomical VursaWedge is designed for cases involving furcation. Due to its unique convex contour, the Anatomical VursaWedge allows clinicians to predictably seal difficult furcation cases.
