This week, we're featuring new products from VOCO, Dentsply Sirona, Keystone, and more!

Transcript:

And we’re back with another episode of ProductsBites! We had a great time at the Chicago MidWinter Meeting! Thanks to everyone who stopped by our booth to record their “Product Pitch” videos with us or just to say hi and pick up a magazine.

I’ve actually got quite a few new products for you this week, so let’s get started!

VOCO-Grandio blocs PlanMill

  • Under a new materials partnership with Planmeca, VOCO has released the Grandio blocs PlanMill.
  • These hybrid ceramic blocs are said to offer toothlike esthetics and time savings for clinicians.
  • They are designed to eliminate the need for firing, saving time and money while simplifying optional characterization and intraoral repair.
  • The high filler degree of 86% allows for wear resistance and long-term color stability.
  • In addition, its toothlike elasticity and thermal expansion behavior enhance marginal integrity compared to ceramic/zirconia.
  • The blocs are formulated to offer precision-milled, thin, tapered edges (as low as 0.8 mm for crowns) without concern for chipping or breakage.
  • Grandio blocs PlanMill is indicated for crowns, inlays, onlays, veneers, and implant-supported crowns.

Dentsply Sirona- Primeprint 3D printing system

  • This new 3D printing solution is said to make it easy to manufacture patient-specific and biocompatible appliances.
  • The printer uses digital light processing technology, where resins are polymerized using UV light.
  • The light projector hardens the resin layer by layer.
  • Primeprint as a 3D printing solution also automates the post-processing of printed objects, which previously would have required complex, time-consuming manual work.
  • Primeprint Solution will be the first new device by Dentsply Sirona specifically built to integrate into the digital universe that the company is creating with its digital technology partner Google Cloud to connect many parts of the dental practice and dental lab across a vast array of procedures.
    • Through this platform, dentists can request high-quality CAD designs as ready-to-print files for 3D printing with Primeprint, created by expert lab technicians.
  • Primeprint Solution is equipped with dental intelligence through the entire process: from software to 3D printing and post-processing.
  • Regulated parameters ensure the high quality of printed appliances for excellent treatment outcomes, according to Dentsply Sirona.
  • Primeprint’s process protocol, involving automated process times, supports a high level of safety based on medical device compliance and automatic case documentation.
  • The Primprint is scheduled to be released later this year.

Amann Girrbach-Ceremill Motion 3

  • Ceramill Motion 3 is an intelligent hybrid machine designed to make fabricating dentures even more convenient and, in particular, more digital.
  • The Ceramill Motion 3 is designed for wet and dry operation.
  • The 5-axis milling machine operates completely autonomously and can therefore manufacture unsupervised both during the night and also on weekends when connected to the AG-Live platform.
  • Users have the option of accessing the intelligent hybrid machine remotely, to receive orders safely and quickly, as well as to monitor everything related to production and customer service.
  • Additionally, the integrated analysis functions allow workflows in the laboratory to be analyzed and optimized on an ongoing basis.
  • Guided CAD/CAM production and maintenance, an intuitive HMI, as well as integrated RFID tools and holders ensure process reliability and facilitate the handling of tools and consumables.
  • Its innovative sculpturing technologies allow even the finest fissures to be milled into the front surface of the restoration.

Keystone KeyDenture Try-In 3D Printing Resin

  • A new 3D printing resin designed for manufacturing short-term trial dentures, KeyDenture Try-In 3D is compatible with various printers and workflows.
  • It’s said to yield waxups with accuracy, surface luster, and color, as well as the correct measurements and fit the first time around.
  • Necessary modifications can be redone and scanned at the dental laboratory and without the need for scan spray.
  • The finished device is said to be odorless, tasteless, and free of MMA, BPA, and phthalates.

Henry Schein One-Jarvis Analytics for Private Practice

  • Henry Schein One’s Jarvis Analytics platform is now available for private practices.
  • Based on the original platform designed for DSOs, this version includes new features that have been simplified for practice members to collect and analyze data, automate workflows, identify operations, understand patient behaviors, and make decisions according to the data.
  • Jarvis collects the data from the practice management system present in the dental practice.
  • It then takes that data and collates it in reports and digestible dashboards.
  • Practice management systems that work with Jarvis Analytics include Dentrix, Dentrix Ascend, Eaglesoft, Open Dental, Denticon, and more.
    • This was done to encourage easy integration with popular management systems. With these insights, Henry Schein One hopes to support dental practice business growth.
