Welcome to Product Bites, a weekly podcast from Dental Products Report, providing you with a rundown of recently launched an updated dental technologies, materials, instruments and everything else you might use with patients or while running your practice.
I'm your host for this week DPR editorial director Noah Levine, and on this week's podcast, we've got a trio of new products as we'll be covering the new launches from Paperplane Therapeutics, Zolar Technology, and Carestream Dental. So let's get to it and learn about these newly launched dental innovations.
First up Paperplane therapeutics unveils Dream Dental, a virtual reality platform designed to alleviate patient anxiety and pain during dental procedures. This innovative platform uses immersive VR experiences to distract patients from treatment related fears and discomfort minimizing disruptions for clinicians. Tailored for both adults and pediatric patients, Dream Dental features interactive VR games and puzzles, encouraging engagement while promoting stillness with a unique function that dynamically adjusts the virtual environment when the patient's head moves to encourage them to remain still during treatment. Especially suited to the needs of pediatric patients, the Dream Dental platform incorporates handheld controls and eye tracking technology, providing an interactive experience while ensuring treatment efficiency.
Designed to simplify dental laser treatments, the Photon EXE diode Laser from Zolar Technology is a compact and portable system with a user friendly touchscreen control panel and more than 30 customizable protocols for various dental laser procedures. Available in two models. The Photon EXE offers an 810 nanometer wavelength and 3W of power, while the Photon EXE Plus operates at a 980 nanometer wavelength and offers 10W of power. Both models accommodate continuous and pulsed modes and support low level laser therapy for pain reduction and laser bleaching with additional attachments.
Finally, Carestream Dental recently announced the expansion of its partnership with Swissmeda with the debut of Swissmeda Cloud Imaging for Carestream Dental imaging solutions. This subscription service securely stores CBCT scans and 2D x-rays in the cloud, providing efficient access for dental professionals. Seamlessly integrating with Carestream Dental's existing software, this solution converts existing Carestream Dental imaging systems such as the CS 9600, or the CS 8200 3D systems into cloud connected devices. Automatic image upload and user friendly browser based viewing facilitate convenient access from anywhere. Secure online sharing eliminates the need for large file attachments, while HIPAA compliance ensures data security and patient privacy.
