Plaque HD uses Targetol Technology, which contains disclosing agents to identify plaque buildup and color it green.

This reportedly allows patients to target any areas of plaque buildup that may have been missed during brushing and completely remove the plaque from their teeth. Plaque HD is also said to be ideal for pediatric and orthodontic patients. Young children and patients who wear braces often suffer damage to tooth enamel and gums due to poor hygiene, undermining their pediatric or orthodontic treatment. Such issues reportedly are easily mitigated by allowing users to see their plaque and more effectively brush it off. With regular brushing using Plaque HD, orthodontic patients reportedly can continue their standard treatments while more effectively fighting cavities, preventing gum disease and freshening breath.
