Levine Children’s Hospital is the largest children's hospital between Atlanta and Washington, D.C., reportedly providing an unmatched level of expert care in more than 30 areas of pediatric medicine in a child-friendly, family-centered atmosphere. The Pelton & Crane Associate Communications Team takes a strong interest in community involvement, and, each year, all associates vote on organizations worthy of team support. This year, Levine Children’s Hospital was selected.

“When we researched the hospital, we learned it was in need of not only monetary contributions but donations in the form of dolls, coloring supplies and volunteers,” explained Amber Wallner, senior human resources generalist for Pelton & Crane, a member of KaVo Kerr Group. “We liked the idea of being able to ‘fundraise’ for the hospital throughout the year in several different ways.”
Pelton & Crane’s Charlotte office hosted a variety of fundraisers for the children’s hospital throughout the course of 2015, including a “penny war” that raised nearly $1,000, a coloring supply drive, a picnic that raised $750 and was matched by KaVo Kerr Group for a total of $1,500 and a fabric drive through which the Pelton & Crane team not only gathered the material for the teaching dolls but made them as well. In November, they delivered the dolls and other donations and toured the facility.

“KaVo Kerr Group associates are an amazingly generous group,” Wallner said. “We work hard each year to sponsor a group that the entire facility feels passionately, and we do our best to make giving back fun.”
Also in 2015, the Pelton & Crane/KaVo Kerr Group team is supporting the Charlotte Rescue Mission and its women’s shelter, Dove’s Nest. Team members raised money, served at the shelter itself, donated classroom supplies and conducted a food drive. In December, associates focused on support for the Kids Wish Network and are in the process of raising money to help two children with life-threatening illnesses to go on their dream vacations.
