For dental professionals, creating smile stories for patients is just part of the job, with each new smile being only a short chapter in the larger story that makes up a clinician’s entire career. On the other hand, the story behind a patient’s new smile for them often represents an extremely important and life-changing event, a plot twist so consequential that it often alters a patient’s larger narrative forever.

Now through June 10, entrants may submit their own ‘smile story’ and a photo to www.yoursmilebecomesyou.com explaining why they deserve a new smile. After the stories are collected, the public will vote for their favorite smile stories from June 11 to June 30. Up to five grand prize-winners will be selected by a panel of dental professionals. The grand prize-winners will be announced in September and will receive a smile makeover – valued at up to $20,000 each.
“A beautiful smile has the power to change your life,” said Barb Kachelski, AACD executive director. “If you are unhappy with your smile, now is your chance to get the smile of your dreams with The Smile Story Contest by the AACD. Submit your story, share with your friends, and get voting!”
To understand the profound difference a smile makeover can have on a patient’s life, watch the “Your Smile Becomes You” video below, which tells the story of a young man named Tracy whose life was forever altered as a result of his new smile.
The contest, supported by Ivoclar Vivadent, will be hosted on www.yoursmilebecomesyou.com.
