Bola Technologies, Inc. (Bola AI), a prominent provider of cutting-edge voice-AI solutions tailored for dental professionals, just announced an innovative partnership with the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. This collaboration marks a significant milestone, as it opens the doors for students to access and utilize Bola AI's state-of-the-art technology.

The partnership will introduce Bola AI's Voice Perio and Clinical Notes solutions into the academic sphere, enabling students to acquaint themselves with the latest advancements in AI technology. This educational initiative aims to equip future dental professionals with essential skills and knowledge, preparing them for successful careers in dental practices.

Rushi Ganmukhi, the visionary founder and CEO of Bola AI, emphasizes the transformative impact of AI in dental offices today. " "AI solutions are already making a huge impact in dental offices today. It only makes sense that future professionals should become familiar with the technology that is currently transforming the overall dental experience. The more conversant students become with the advantages of AI in their training programs, the easier they will adapt to it in a professional setting," he states in a press release.

The University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine has been conducting a pilot program with Bola AI's solutions in its hygiene clinic for several months, with plans to expand its integration throughout the fall. Initial feedback from both students and faculty has been overwhelmingly positive, highlighting enhanced clinical efficiency, standardized workflows for periodontal charting, and improved adherence to infection control protocols.

Sarah E. Grafton, DMD, Assistant Dean for Clinical Efficiency and Analytics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, expresses her optimism about the partnership, stating in the press release, " I think partnering with Bola AI may have a tangible impact on improving clinical efficiency for our dental students, dental hygiene students and residents. There is nothing more valuable than time, and our time to educate our students chairside is limited. Utilizing technology, specifically artificial intelligence, to improve the experience for both the student and the patient is a great opportunity with limitless possibilities."

Recent advancements in AI and deep learning have propelled computer vision, language processing, and speech recognition to nearly human-level capabilities. Bola AI's Voice Perio solution is designed to empower dental professionals to seamlessly input periodontal data into client PMs and electronic health records (EHR) systems in real-time, boasting a remarkable speech accuracy rate of 99% and accommodating variable accents and flexible phrasing. Additionally, the Clinical Notes feature provides swift and precise voice transcription, enabling dentists, hygienists, and front-office staff to deliver superior patient care, according to Bola AI.

Students are known for their rapid and enthusiastic adoption of new technology, especially when it offers substantial time-saving benefits. Periodontal charting, a critical but labor-intensive aspect of patient exams, stands to benefit significantly from this new AI technology, allowing more time for in-depth evaluation rather than documentation.

Bola AI envisions forging similar partnerships with additional dental schools in the near future. "Our goal is to team up with additional universities so that we will better grow and prepare dental students for years to come," Ganmukhi adds in the press release.
