Three finalists take center stage for Panthera Dental’s 6th Master Cup, recognizing the masterwork and creation of a complete dental prosthesis.
Panthera Dental has unveiled the names of its 3 finalists in the much-anticipated 2023 Master Cup competition. The 3 finalists for 2023 are Nina Frketin from the United Kingdom, Evgeny Korneychuk from Ukraine, and Patricia Strimb from Germany. These 3 participants have clinched their spot at the grand Award Ceremony scheduled for October 6, 2023, in the picturesque Quebec City, Canada, according to a press release from Panthera.
The Panthera Master Cup, an annual event, has consistently strived to identify the most skilled dental professionals, be it dental technicians, dentists, or denturists, by challenging them to craft complete dental prostheses that encompass a blend of knowledge, skills, functionality, and esthetics. This year, the panel of discerning judges, comprised of Oleg Glozanski, Margaret Wibberley, John Wibberley, Sébastien Mioranza (last year's winner), and Dr Michael J. Tholey, evaluated the submissions and came to a consensus on the finalists on September 8, 2023.
Ten clinicians participated in this year's edition and demonstrated their dedication by working for 3 months to create their cases. Three finalists have been recognized––Nina Frketin, Evgeny Korneychuk, and Patricia Strimb. The collective efforts have earned them a share of the prize pool exceeding CAN$75,000, which comprises valuable prizes such as an articulator, a furnace, technical articles featured in prominent dental magazines, and a one-of-a-kind 3D printed ring, generously provided by Panthera Dental and Master Cup partners, including VITA, Amann Girrbach, and LMT, per the press release. VITA will also be providing a €500 voucher for best documentation to Lola Welch from the United Kingdom.
Béatrice Robichaud, co-founder and VP Marketing and Customer Experience at Panthera Dental, extended her heartfelt congratulations to the participants, emphasizing that, in her view, all 10 contenders were champions in their own right. She expressed her gratitude towards the judges, partners, and the entire Panthera Dental team for their unwavering support.
“I join the judges, partners, and the entire Panthera Dental team in thanking and congratulating participants Sophie Dallem, Olivier Herblot, Salvatore Marono, Shawna Schonaur, Ryan Tran, Derek Walker, and Lola Welch on their incredible achievements,” Robichaud says in the press release. “Good luck to the 3 finalists, but above all congratulations to the 10 participants who, in my opinion, all won.”
In a nod to the participants' exceptional talent, Frketin, Korneychuk, and Strimb will have their technical documentation and testimonials about the competition published in forthcoming editions of LMT Magazine. The winner will be announced on social media on October 6, 2023, according to the press release.
The Panthera Master Cup aims to recognize skills and knowledge on all things implant bars, evaluating cases that involve this important aspect of implant dentistry. Case submission must also include documentation, enabling the jury to follow the clinician’s process and technique to judge it accordingly. The jury then follows established criteria in order to determine the 3 finalists, and later, the winner of the Master Cup. This is the sixth edition of the Panthera Master Cup.
