Effective retraction of the lips and cheeks during the dental treatment is the wish of every clinician.
Effective retraction of the lips and cheeks during the dental treatment is the wish of every clinician.
OptraGate is a latex-free lip and cheek retractor that reportedly is easy to use, quick to place and comfortable for the patient. The lip and cheek retractor is now also available for children in two new colors: blue and pink.
Quite often, it is difficult to retract the soft tissue sufficiently with the dental mirror, saliva ejector and cotton rolls. The retraction of the tissue often causes a defensive reaction in the patient.
More from Ivoclar: How to achieve the final results your patients desire
Easy for both clinician and patient
OptraGate is designed to allow unimpeded retraction of the lips and cheeks over a large area. At the same time, the soft and flexible material is said to give in to movements of the mouth in a controlled manner, which reportedly makes it easier for the patient to keep the mouth open. The dental assistant and the clinician can better check and focus on the isolated treatment area, as it is more easily accessible. The dental mirror and saliva ejector are merely used for retracting the tongue and can thus be used more efficiently. OptraGate is designed to raise efficiency by allowing better focus on the treatment procedure.
New color variations
The new color variations, blue and pink, are said to give the dentists a chance to break the ice and gain trustfulness of their little patients. They impart a playful aspect to the treatment situation and facilitate relative isolation in young patients.
