This new endodontic rotary, heat-treated file system called FQ aims to help endodontists optimize root canal preparation with its high flexibility and narrow core.
Komet is set to launch its newest endodontic file system, the FQ. FQ is a rotary, heat-treated endo file system designed for efficiency, flexibility, and longevity. This new file system will join Komet’s family of endodontic systems, adding a rotary, heat-treated option for endodontists to treat root canal cases with maximum efficiency, per a press release from Komet.
The FQ line also features a double-S cross section paired with a tapered core for optimal debris removal. Endodontic Product Manager at Komet USA, Dr Satya Nadimpalli, says that this feature is ideal for root canal preparation.
“As an endodontist myself, my file system of choice would have excellent cutting efficiency while respecting the natural anatomy of the tooth,” Dr Nadimpalli says in the press release. “The FQ does that and more. It optimizes root canal preparation time by helping unclog apical debris with its double-S cross section and variably tapered core.”
This tapered core also lends itself to higher flexibility and large chip space. The FQ has a variety of files to suit any patient’s specific tooth anatomy, and it also contains a high cyclic fatigue resistance that prevents NiTi file separation.
Komet has discontinued F360 and F6 as the FQ comes to market.
