I recently had the chance to sit down with Lisa Marie Spradley, who was named as the Dental Office Manager of the Year by the American Association of Dental Office Managers (AADOM). Spradley, who is also a member of the Dental Products Report editorial board, received her honor at AADOM’s 10th anniversary meeting in San Diego.
“It was very humbling. I was very honored to receive it,” Spradley said. “The AADOM meeting has energy that is off the charts. It’s fantastic to be surrounded by so many amazing professionals. AADOM has been an excellent resource for me and has given me the opportunity to meet so many great people and good friends.”
Spradley has helped her dental practice survive a fire and then, just a few months later, Hurricane Katrina. She has learned much from her experiences as a dental office manager and uses some of those experiences in her blog, “The Front Desk Lady.”
I am honored to consider her a friend. I am also thrilled beyond words for her to receive this award. Earlier this year, Spradley lost her daughter in a car accident and, since that day, has consistently shown to all of us in the dental industry what an amazing and strong person she is.
During our interview, I spoke with Spradley about the honor, the important role of office managers, and the one piece of advice she would share with her colleagues. You can watch our interview and learn more below.
