Matthews hired to manage DSG's Simon DeChaetlet Dental Laboratory

With more than 20 years of experience managing Navy dental labs, Allan Matthews was recently hired for the position of General Manager at Simon DeChatlet Dental Laboratory in Miamisburg, Ohio. The full-service lab is a part of Dental Services Group's network of North American dental labs.

Matthews takes over the helm of the more than 70-year-old lab which has attained DAMAS certification and includes 7 CDTs on the staff. DSG seems excited to have a new leader on board and DLP wishes Matthews all the best in his new position.

DENTAL SERVICES GROUP NAMES ALLEN MATTHEWS NEW GENERAL MANAGER OF SIMON DeCHATLET DENTAL LABORATORY

MINNEAPOLIS - January 2012 - Minneapolis-based Dental Services Group (DSG) named Allen Matthews as General Manager of its full-service dental laboratory, Simon DeChatlet Dental Laboratory, Miamisburg, Ohio. Matthews brings over 20 years of experience in dental lab management while serving in the Navy, as well as expertise in the technical aspects of dental prosthetics to DSG, an organization of 25 full-service dental laboratories offering dentists best-in-class restorations and appliances for their patients.

According to DSG Chief Executive Officer Buddy Pickle, the addition of Matthews allows the organization to continue its shared mission with customers to achieve the highest degree of patient satisfaction and practice success. "Allen is a disciplined leader who is truly customer focused," says Pickle. "He has the knowledge to manage both the business and patient side of the lab business, the skills to serve as a technical role model to the Simon DeChatlet team and the ability to lead that team to benefit our customers. At DSG's Simon DeChatlet Dental Laboratory, a laboratory that has been serving the Miamisburg-area dental community for more than 70 years (since 1938), Matthews will be responsible for ensuring that area dental customers are offered the highest quality restorations with unparalleled service. "I have a passion for the dental lab business. I enjoy the industry and I love to help people," says Matthews. "At DSG, I'm able to work in the field of my choice and be a part of a committed team of professionals." Simon DeChatlet has 7 Certified Dental Technicians and each department manager has over 30 years of technical experience. The lab has received Dental Appliance Manufacturers Audit System (DAMAS) accreditation, an internationally recognized Quality Assurance verification. DAMAS certification has been awarded to less than 1 percent of the dental laboratories in North America.

Prior to joining DSG, Matthews served in the United States Navy where he graduated from the Basic and Advanced Dental Laboratory Technology School as well as the Dental Assisting Basic "A" School. He recently received a Bachelor's degree in Health Care Administration from the University of Management and Technology.
