Back to a live format in Cologne, Germany, and its traditional March timeframe, the world’s largest dental exhibition is excited to showcase the latest innovations from companies from around the globe.
There is a feeling of celebration around the prepartions for the 2023 International Dental Show (IDS). The biannual industry trade fair is the largest dental exhibition in the world, and the March 2023 event will mark both the 40th edition of IDS and the 100th anniversary of the first event.
Organizers say they expect the number of exhibitors and attendees to be smaller than the 2019 event, but still sizable as the show is expected to take place with no major health or safety restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Currently more than 1,400 companies are registered to exhibit at the event which will fill seven exhibit hall spaces at the Koelnmesse in Cologne, Germany from March 14-18, 2023.
While the 2023 event might be smaller than the more than 2,000 exhibiting companies on hand in 2019, it will still mark a huge expansion since the first IDS which was held in 1923 with 29 exhibitors set up in a 350 square meter area at the Berlin Zoo. The event moved to Cologne in the early 1990s and has continued to grow steadily throughout the past 30 years.
While the event is returning to its traditional format, the pandemic-impacted IDS 2021 will influence the upcoming exhibition, as IDS 2023 will also be a hybrid event with online access to exhibitors available to anyone who cannot make the trip to Germany.
As always the event expects to feature the latest dental technologies along with early looks at new and emerging dental innovations. For more information on IDS 2023 visit www.ids-cologne.de.
