Julie Charlestein, president of Premier Dental, considers it her privilege to carry on the legacy of the company that was founded by her great grandfather and namesake, Julius Charlestein, in 1913.
The family-owned and operated company develops, manufactures and distributes health care products through a worldwide network of dealers.
“We have an incredibly strong and rich heritage,” she said. “It is very important for me to carry that into the future through our technology and product innovations, partnerships and brand.”
Julie is the fourth generation of her family to serve at the company’s helm and she recalls fondly how she was introduced to the business as a young person.
“My earliest memories at Premier were before the time of computers, when I was in the filing room alphabetizing, and then in packaging where I would separate wood wedges by color,” Julie said. Today, she’s excited about the variety of tasks she performs as president.
“I love getting involved in all that I can-marketing messages, inventory issues, the executive committee. Our company and this industry is rich with many great minds and I am thankful to learn from them every day.”
Because her personal and professional lives are so closely intertwined, Julie said she has had to learn how to manage and balance both.
Her volunteer work includes serving on the board of the Dental Trade Alliance, chairing its government affairs committee. She also is involved in Give Kids a Smile and with Dental Volunteers for Israel.
