"Spectra was released in August 2009 and it's being accepted by the market very well," said Newman.
According to Newman, dentists who have traditionally found caries detection to be limited with the probe and the x-ray have increased the probability of finding early-on caries with the help from the Spectra.
"It really has done a true industry standard at this point," explained Newman. "We just released a new version of the Spectra that is a little bit more ergonomic and easier to use."
Newman also noted that finding things early on during open preps and around existing restorations is something a lot of products on the market cannot do.
