More than just a portal to a revolutionary service, this low-cost device uses blue structured light technology to digitize stone models with supreme accuracy. Models are affixed via putty or an optional articulator kit to the machine’s swing arm and rotated from scan angle to scan angle with each new position being lit with a grid-like light pattern that enables the scanning lens to determine the three-dimensional geometry of the object. When the separate scans are automatically stitched together by the scan software, a complete and accurate reconstruction of the model is generated digitally.
While the box shape has become ubiquitous across laboratory scanning units, the CloudPoint FastScan features an open-air configuration and a scan surface capable of fitting multiple objects and large articulators. Pairing the open design with the device’s high scan speed means cases can be digitized faster and with fewer steps; in fact, the CloudPoint FastScan is more than twice as fast as competing scanners.
From single units to full-arch models, the CloudPoint scanner is capable of handling a comprehensive portion of a lab’s daily case load. Virtual plug-and-play installation and intuitive operation enable the device to be implemented in any laboratory setting. After an initial setup and calibration, the scanning unit operates without requiring additional daily maintenance.
The FastScan provides users an immediate point of entry into digital dentistry. Purchase of the FastScan includes everything needed to begin offering BruxZir® restorations: The scanner, computer setup, scan and design software, CloudPoint Web portal account and 10 free BruxZir crown orders are packaged together for only $11,399. For laboratories that already have existing CAD/CAM assets, the CloudPoint FastScan serves as a method to integrate high speed scan capabilities at a lower cost than competing machines. Best of all, the entire package is backed by cloud-based diagnostics and support, reducing any worries that the scanner might become nonfunctional and halt production.
