Dental assistants are the hardest hit occupation during this pandemic with almost every American dental assistant laid off or furloughed during the early days of the pandemic. Now as practice begin to reopen and start seeing patients once again, assistants are beginning to return to work, but in a very different environment.

In this interview, Dental Products Report Editorial Director and Shannon Pace Brinker, CDA, founder of the Academy of Chairside Assisting discuss what the pandemic has been like for both her personally and for dental assistants in general. The conversation covers both clinical and emotional impacts of the pandemic on the often unheralded, but always essential dental assistant.
