Glidewell will partner with artificial intelligence company Overjet to complement its glidewell.io™ In-Office Solution for single-visit CAD/CAM restorations.
Glidewell has announced a new partnership with artificial intelligence (AI) group Overjet, allowing Glidewell customers to utilize Overjet’s AI technology in the dental practice. Overjet helps dentists identify trouble spots, like cavities and gum disease, using the power of AI. Overjet’s AI solution will pair with the glidewell.io™ In-Office Solution, which is an AI-driven chairside CAD/CAM system for restorative treatment. Glidewell.io is able to turn around same-day, single-visit restorations and, with the help of Overjet, can now do so with enhanced accuracy, according to Glidewell CEO Stephenie Goddard.
“In the laboratory setting, AI has transformed how dentistry operates by making restoration production more accurate and predictable,” Goddard says in a press release from the company. “Overjet has emerged as a powerful tool for dentists, and we are excited to partner together to provide our customers with the most advanced technology to identify restorative treatment needs, enhance the patient experience, and strengthen the patient-clinician relationship.”
Overjet’s AI is said to integrate with glidewell.io without altering digital lab workflows too much, allowing practitioners to adopt this new parternship-powered system with ease. It will also allow practitioners to treat patients with accuracy and efficiency, according to Overjet CEO and co-founder Dr Wardah Inam.
“We are excited to join forces with Glidewell, a technological innovator in restorative dentistry for more than 50 years,” Dr Inam says in the press release. “This collaboration will enable Glidewell’s network of dentists to harness the power of AI to further advance patient care, opening the door to new opportunities and practice growth.”
