Exocad’s ChairsideCAD 2.3 Matera is now available in the US, EU, Japan, South Korea, and Australia, the company announced in a statement. ChairsideCAD was named Cellerent “Best of Class” Technology award winner due to its open software architecture, becoming the only CAD software to receive this distinction.
“Dentists are free to choose their hardware because our software seamlessly integrates itself into a heterogeneous device environment so that users can easily combine different intraoral scanners with almost all 3D printers and milling units-whether in their own practice or with a laboratory,” explained Tillmann Steinbrecher, CEO at exocad.
The release of ChairsideCAD Matera offers more flexibility selecting scanners and milling machines while offering simplified integration, exocad said. The production systems are said to be perfectly integrated-the positioning of the reconstruction in the milling blank takes place directly in the CAD workflow. Predictable results are achieved quickly, especially using color scans and multilayer materials.
“We are delighted to receive the Cellerant award and pleased that an independent jury recognized our software as pioneering digital technology in the clinical environment,” said Larry Bodony, president of exocad America. “This award encourages and drives us to further develop our open software architecture.”
Matera allows for control of multiple milling machines directly within the exocad software, the company said. Improved photorealistic representation of the finished restoration is a feature, including an interactive 3D preview that can also be previewed and exported as a web link and viewed in all popular browsers-even on mobile devices-without the need to install software.
The Smile Creator module, which is now available with ChairsideCAD offers highly esthetic anterior cases which are planned simply and predictably using patient photos and optical scans.
The new Implant Module allows abutments and screw-retained crowns, as well as bridges, to be designed quickly and easily. ChairsideCAD 2.3 Matera modules provide an intuitive path, expanding the range of single visit services. The Implant Module is pending FDA approval in the US and ChairsideCAD was released without.
