DEXIS™ announces a significant upgrade with the launch of DEXIS™ IS ScanFlow v.1.0.10, introducing advanced guided workflows and AI enhancements alongside a seamless 2-way integration with DEXIS 10, tailored to optimize dental implant workflows.
In a continued effort to enhance dental implant workflow efficiencies, DEXIS has unveiled its latest intraoral scanning update, DEXIS™ IS ScanFlow v.1.0.10. This update encompasses a range of new guided workflows, artificial intelligence (AI-) -driven enhancements, and integration capabilities with DEXIS Imaging Suite software version 10.
Earlier this year, DEXIS introduced its comprehensive implant ecosystem, the AI-enhanced DEXIS digital ecosystem. This ecosystem empowers clinicians to seamlessly navigate every phase of the implant workflow, from initial diagnosis to final delivery, using a unified set of tools.
This week, visitors to booth 1117 at the Hinman Dental Meeting in Atlanta, Georgia (March 21-23, 2024) will have the opportunity to witness demonstrations of these cutting-edge IOS Innovations. Brian Gooch, VP of marketing at DEXIS, expresses enthusiasm about the latest software update, stating in a press release, “We are excited to introduce our latest DEXIS intraoral scanning software update, aimed at boosting productivity for DEXIS software owners and implant workflows. We’ve made scanning fast and easy, even for more complex situations. Digital impression data is important for implant case planning, so we enable highly accurate data to be incorporated into chairside or open workflows, and easily shared with labs or colleagues.”
The integration of IS ScanFlow empowers DEXIS 10 users to seamlessly access IS ScanFlow directly from the DEXIS Imaging Suite. This integration is designed to streamline the management of patient imaging history, consolidating it into a single location for informed decision-making. This integration, available to over 40,000 users of DEXIS Imaging Suite version 10, is poised to advance and streamline their workflows significantly.
Early adopters of the IS ScanFlow software update have lauded its high-speed scanning capabilities, user-friendly interface, precise data capture, and its open, flexible system, DEXIS states. Robert Pauley, DMD, of Union City, Georgia, shared his positive experience. “We’ve used the new Full Arch Implant workflow for 5 cases so far with fantastic results for each one. It’s very easy to take the common scan with the provisional in place, remove and scan the provisional, and then obtain a final scan of the soft tissue with scan bodies. So far, we’ve tried in 3 prototypes and delivered 2 final prostheses, and I’m excited to say that each has fit passively with ideal occlusion, which really speaks to the accuracy of the data,” Dr Pauley, a DEXIS consultant, states in the press release.
The latest version of IS ScanFlow, v1.0.10, aims to enhance productivity through AI-driven tools specifically tailored for dentists. This release introduces a brand-new AI Matching tool, simplifying data capture in complex scenarios such as multiple scan bodies and cases of full or partial edentulism.
Additionally, algorithm enhancements to the Implant Scan Body AI Assist tool automatically detect scan bodies, reduce noise in the data, correct artifacts, and enhance details, further automating the process of precise data capture.
IS ScanFlow v 1.0.10 also introduces guided dental workflows to streamline manual tasks and simplify processes. With the new CaseFlow Manager tool, users have the flexibility to fill out case information before or after initiating scanning, followed by an easy, guided workflow that automates manual processes and predicts next steps, facilitating data acquisition for the selected indication.
Moreover, the brand-new Full Arch Implant workflow guides users through the data-capture process for a full arch case, automatically aligning the scans in occlusion and consolidating them into 1 dataset for seamless transmission to a lab or manufacturer.
Efficient lab communication is facilitated by enabling users to view case progress and real-time lab status updates directly within the Patient History screen, fostering easy collaboration, reducing delays, and ensuring timely task completion, acc cording to DEXIS.
In another development, the DEXIS intraoral scanners’ mobile cart, The IS Voyager, now offers a battery-powered mounting box that provides up to 10 minutes of cord-free power, eliminating the need to power down scanning setups when moving the cart between rooms. The UPS (uninterrupted power supply) Mounting Box also serves as a backup power source, enabling users to complete and save scans in the event of sudden power loss, safeguarding valuable data from loss.
Highlighting the synergies between IS ScanFlow and DTX Studio™ Clinic, Gooch adds, “The true power of IS ScanFlow is seen when paired with the core of the DEXIS implant ecosystem—DTX Studio Clinic. Packed with smart tools and advanced algorithms, DTX Studio Clinic serves as the clinic’s imaging homebase, diagnostic hub, and treatment planning navigator. It connects each step of the implant process together and now, when purchased with an intraoral scanner, comes at no extra cost.”
Implant workflow productivity can be maximized by integrating IS ScanFlow into the rest of the tools and software within the DEXIS digital ecosystem–where practices can manage an entire implant case, from diagnosis to delivery, with 1 integrated toolset, the company adds.
