DEXIS delivers enhanced CariVu Software

Article

Introducing the latest innovations from DEXIS for its award-winning, zero-radiation caries detection device. With this latest CariVu software release, significant enhancements build on the value of DEXIS’ ground-breaking transillumination caries detection device.

CariVu™ Software 2.0 is a software update for CariVu™, the compact, portable caries detection device from DEXIS that uses unique, patented transillumination technology to easily detect a range of carious lesions (occlusal, interproximal, secondary/recurrent) and cracks.

Enhancements include: a fully redesigned interface with a sleek modern look and further intuitive, streamlined functionality; Quick Capture that takes only a one-second squeeze of the ring to freeze and save CariVu images into the patient record; and Same-Tooth Comparison Aid for easier diagnostic comparison and monitoring changes over time.

Additionally, the CariVu software auto-draws an outline of a prior image of the same tooth which aids in acquiring new images that are the same size and orientation; features On-screen Acquisition Guidance; and 5-Second Video Capture. Incorporated easily into current workflow, CariVu serves as a valuable adjunct tool for the identification of caries.
