Dentsply Sirona celebrates leadership on International Women's Day

In support of International Women’s Day on March 8, Dentsply Sirona recognized the importance of gender equality in the dental industry and oral health sector by sponsoring programs and events dedicated to the career advancement and leadership of women in dentistry. 

Using the hashtag #EachforEqual, this year’s campaign emphasizes how individual and collective efforts can contribute to empowering women in society. Dentsply Sirona is committed to advancing women’s interests in the dental and oral health arenas, the company said in a press release.

“We want to empower all women in dentistry by supporting their professional development and recognizing their outstanding achievements in research and development, entrepreneurship, mentorship, and education,” said Dr. Terri Dolan, chief clinical officer and vice president at Dentsply Sirona. “As part of our mission, we support several programs for the advancement of women dentists, hygienists, and technicians within the dental industry.” 

To celebrate women’s expertise in dentistry and recognize their innovative ideas and concepts, Dentsply Sirona hosted the first-ever Smart Integration Award in November 2019. A total of 24 winners were honored as part of Dentsply Sirona’s commitment to integrate women’s expertise more closely in the development of new products.

The Women in Science Network Awards and the International Association for Dental Research (IADR) are two more events sponsored by the company for the second year. Dentsply Sirona believes that research and innovation are at the forefront of their mission to empower dental professionals.

Other sponsored events include the 2019 ADEA International Women’s Leadership Conference, the Women in Dentistry Breakfast, and the annual GNYDM Women Dentists’ Leadership Conference. 

Dentsply Sirona VP ad Chief Clinical Officer Dr. Terri Nolan receives the Dr. Edward B. Shils Innovator Award for Excellence in Industry.

Dr. Nolan’s accomplishments in clinical education were honored with the Dr. Edward B. Shils Innovator Award for Excellence in Industry in October 2019. Dr. Nolan is behind the implementation of the company’s clinical education program, which last year reached more than 470,000 dental professionals in 99 countries, the statement said.
