Dentsply Sirona and 3Shape Expand Strategic Partnership

Dentsply Sirona and 3Shape have announced the expansion of their strategic partnership by way of integrating Dentpsly Sirona’s Connect Case Center with 3Shape’s Dental System software. The original strategic partnership was announced last June, and was proposed to expand digital dentistry, and allowed 3Shape TRIOS intraoral scanner users access to Dentsply Sirona’s SureSmile Clear Aligners platform.

Now, dental professionals using Primescan or Omnican intraoral scanners can give dental labs safe and secure access to data through the Connect Case Center Portal. This interface is now available to labs that use the updated 3Shape’s Dental System and is said to make for an easy and efficient digital workflow, according to Dr Sabrina Hoffmann, a dentists in Buerstadt, Germany.

“Digital impressions facilitate communication. After scanning I can discuss the digital model directly with my patient. And because I now can communicate with the lab technician seamlessly, I can share the planned outcome with my patient much quicker –and that is a benefit to the patient that matters,” Dr Hoffmann said in a press release from Dentsply Sirona. “What we are experiencing today is truly the dentistry of the future.”

Looking to the future, Dentsply Sirona and 3Shape hope to make digital dentistry technologies more accessible to a wider range of dental professionals.
