What started as a collection of 64 recently launched dental products is now down to just 4 remaining contenders for the title of 2023 Dental Products Report Spring Selection. Vote in the Semi-Finals right now!
Just a few weeks ago the 2023 Spring Selection launched with more than 2 dozen matchups between 64 recently launched dental products. Everything was set up in a seeded bracket format, and now after 4 rounds of voting just a quartet of products remain in the mix for the tournament title.
As this is the first year of running a Spring Selection event, we've been learning along the way, and one of the biggest lessons is that the seedings really mean nothing. Still, it is an interesting coincidence too have these semi-final matchups feature a pair of 7 seeds versus a pair of 15 seeds.
Read on to learn about these products facing off in the penultimate round of the Dental Products Report 2023 Spring Selection. You can vote here in this article, as well as on our Instagram page.
Orascoptic's Dragonfly loupes emerged as the winner in the Upper Left Quadrant. Bringing comfort and convenience to the world of clinical magnification, these loupes with an integrated headlight and battery pack represent the cutting edge in dental loupe design.
On the other side of the matchup is the K2 Mobile diode laser, champion of the Lower Left Quadrant. Manufactured by Hu Laser and available from Polaroid Dental, this sleek, handheld system features a unique Adjustable Fiber Length system that makes access to anywhere in the oral cavity easier.
So one again we have a pair of wireless technologies going head-to-head. Who goes on to the finals, the Loupes or the Laser?
In the second semi-final matchup, also featuring a 7 seed meeting a 15 seed, it's artificial intelligence (AI) versus a reliable standby at the heart of many dental practice operations.
On one side it's AI crown design solution DentBird Crown, a 7 seed that has continued to win close matchups round after round. This software solution uses AI processing to create an ideal single crown design that can then be milled or printed at the practice, thus saving time and eliminating the need to manually design the details of the crown.
Standing in the AI's way is W&H's Proxeo TWIST prophy handpiece. Round after round, this 15-seeded solution has performed strongly, including in a closely contested Lower Right Quadrant championship game. With a compact design for maximum visibility, this prophy handpiece makes it easy to access anywhere.
Only one of these products makes it to the finals. Will DentBird be the word, or will we all be doing the Proxeo TWIST into the finals?
