The CS 3800 intraoral scanner offers clinicians the freedom and flexibility of a wireless device with a larger field of view.
Carestream Dental has introduced the CS 3800, a new wireless intraoral scanner designed to offer clinicians freedom within a digital workflow. The device was designed in concert with Studio F. A. Porsche.
The device’s cordless, compact design is said to provide a more comfortable scanning experience. Its field of view (FOV) is 16 x 14mm, which allows for easier scanning of edentulous patients and easier capture interproximal areas and subgingival margins. The CS 3800 is designed to better capture emergence profiles, deep margins, and post spaces for improved image quality with its 21mm depth of field.
The new scanner is compatible with the CS ScanFlow 1.0.4 software, giving clinicians the flexibility to provide a range of treatment indications, including restorations, orthodontics, sleep devices, and dentures. Once captured, an impression can be exported to a number of platforms, including CS Model+ v5, the Implant Planning module, or Swissmedia for designing surgical guides.
A standard version of the CS ScanFlow software is included with the scanner, but practices have the option of upgrading to a premium version. The CS 3800 platform is an open-source system that provides clinicians with the ability to choose which components and partners fit within their preferred workflow.
