Blue Sky Plan and SMOP are the latest third-party solutions to join Carestream Dental’s extensive list of validated partners.
Carestream Dental announces two new software partners and a new addition to its restorative workflow that will reportedly allow doctors to transform their patients’ lives in new and innovative ways.
Blue Sky Plan, by Blue Sky Bio, and SMOP, by Swissmeda - both of which aid in virtual implant planning and surgical guide design - are the latest third-party solutions to join Carestream Dental’s extensive list of validated partners. Now, users of Carestream Dental’s CBCT systems can launch either platform from within the CS 3D Imaging software with a single click. There’s no need to export the datasets or reposition the implant, which saves valuable time.

“Partnerships like these mean doctors aren’t required to follow one specific pathway to treatment,” says Ed Shellard, DMD, chief dental officer, Carestream Dental. “Instead, they may choose the software and workflow that best fits their practice and the patient’s unique needs.”
The natural next step after any implant is the restoration. For doctors looking for a complete chairside HD 3D workflow, Carestream Dental has introduced the CS 3100 milling system. The new mill is said to allow doctors to create full-contour bridges, inlays, onlays and veneers using hybrid resin, ceramic and zirconia, and it comes completely integrated with exocad’s trusted ChairsideCAD software. The simplified user interface is designed to offer an optimized chairside experience and includes features like Smart Milling Queue Management, meaning clinicians can capture new scans with their CS 3600 intraoral scanner without waiting for the current restoration to be milled.
