CareerFusion kicks off in Daytona Beach

What a way to start the year.

Hygienists looking to further their careers and even a few dentists gathered at The Shores Resort and Spa in Daytona Beach on Saturday to be part of CareerFusion 2012. The four-day networking event is full of opportunities for attendees, whether they’re looking to branch out into writing, sales or speaking.

Many familiar faces return to the event each year, along with new members who are eager to learn and grow as much as they can during these four days and beyond. Saturday morning kicked off with a talk from Fran Pangakis, RDH, CPVC , who reminded attendees to think of these next four days as an audition, and to be open to finding their IT, whether that comes during one of the sessions, during reflection time or just chatting with friends during the breaks.

“Learn about your strengths. That’s where success lies,” she said. “Don’t focus on your weaknesses. Take your strengths and go with that. There are partners in this room who have amazing opportunities.”

And this year’s event has plenty of partners, including Xlear Inc., Coltene, Crosstex, MIS Implants Technologies, OralDNA Labs, Cetylite, PerioProtect, Voco, Oragenics, CariFree and American Eagle Instruments. Attendees had the opportunity to participate in tabletops with three of these manufacturers on Saturday, offering the manufacturer feedback about their products as well as asking them in-depth questions about what they have to offer. The tabletops will continue throughout the meeting.

This is our second year as a CareerFusion media partner, and it’s great to be back and part of such an inspiring meeting. These dental professionals have a great energy and passion for what they do, and are so eager to take their careers to the next level. Can’t wait to see what the rest of the meeting holds as well as what these talented women and men will accomplish in the year ahead.
