Cantel Medical Corp. has completed its acquisition of Hu-Friedy, which will be added to Cantel's Crosstex dental brand.
Cantel Medical Corp. has completed its acquisition of Hu-Friedy, the company announced in a press release on Wednesday.
Cantel will combine Hu-Friedy to its Crosstex dental brand, the release said, which manufactures infection prevention and control products. Hu-Friedy’s leadership has taken over the combined division, with former Hu-Friedy president Ken Serota assuming the role of president of the combined Cantel Dental Division, according to the statement.
“With so much change happening in our industry, two things remain constant – performance and protection. We are thrilled to embark on this journey with Cantel and look forward to delivering products, services, and education that create real value around these two critical concepts,” Serota said in the release.
The deal is expected to boost efficiency in the dental division’s supply chain, as well as provide more support to its distributors, and address the concerns of healthcare professionals.
“Today represents another important step for Cantel, one that allows us to further accelerate our ability to provide a ‘Complete Circle of Protection’ that includes dental workflow management solutions, instrument reprocessing, infection prevention, and compliance,” George Fotiades, president and Cantel CEO said in the statement.
Cantel announced its plan to purchase Hu-Friedy in early August following regulatory approval.
Headquartered in Chicago, Hu-Friedy is a global manufacturer of instruments and provider of instrument reprocessing workflow systems that has served the dental industry since its founding in 1908. Their instruments are hand-made and are “known for their precision, performance, [and] quality,” the press release said.
Cantel is a global infection prevention leader specializing in advanced water purification equipment, sterilants, disinfectants and cleaners, sterility assurance monitoring products for hospitals and dental clinics, and disposable infection control products primarily for dental markets.
